Kensingon will have Kensington Commons Apartments open soon this fall, 34 apartments, 10,000 square feet of retail space — with one suite leased to Pacific Dental and Stehly Farms Market and UPS.
After Moosie’s Ice Cream just opened this summer, Kensington will have another new “Sweet Spot”. Pappalecco, the cafe and gelateria, will open in two or three months; the 1,000-square-foot space should be similar in layout to Little Italy and will also include outdoor seating. We hear they will have wine, too!
But sadly, just months after rescuing the Ken Cinema from closure, after 30 years in business, the world-class video store Kensington Video will be closing shop in February, 2015, a victim of shifting technology and small-business fatigue.
Kensington is changing with new business is coming and long time old favorite will be closing. Hopefully, Moosie’s Ice Cream and PAPPALECCO can co-exists, adding some-what big apartment and retail complex does not change Kensington’s charm.
