Exciting news! After collecting signatures and the Ward Canyon Dog Park Rally, the city has approved General Development Plan for the Ward Canyon Interim Dog Park. The design includes a small dog area and a large dog area. A “Project Notification Bulletin” has been sent to neighboring properties. The Normal Heights Community Planning Group, at their September 1 meeting, unanimously approved the proposed interim dog park but added that it shouldn’t be located next to residences unless there is sound buffering, bench seating should be provided, a water source is crucial, and fencing should be at a height of four feet. There will be a public meeting at the Rec Council on Sept 22nd. At the meeting, staff will be making an announcement regarding total project cost (the 22K in the bulletin is an early estimate).
Please feel free to pass this information along to anyone who you think may be interested in learning more about the project!
